Slot Die Coating Technologies

Slot die extrusion coating is a closed, pre-metered coating method with the advantages of stable coating and ultra-high precision.

Basic slot die coating machine (Slot Die)

Working principle: Forming a thin film through the gap between the coating head and the backing roller.

Applicability: Suitable for medium to high viscosity fluids, used to produce medium-thickness coatings, and also suitable for intermittent coating.

Working principle: Use a vacuum box upstream of the coating head to form a thin film to reduce air entrainment and stabilize droplets.

Applicability: Suitable for various coatings from thin to thick, mainly used for low-viscosity thin coatings in the field of gravure printing.

R&R Coater without Back Roller (R2 Die)

Working principle: A tension-drawn coating method without back roller, especially suitable for high speed and thin coatings.

  • Good continuous stability

Application range:

  • Coating speed: 5~500m/min
  • Viscosity: 1~1000mPa·s
  • Coating amount: 1~30μm·Wet
  • Application examples: optical materials, electronic materials (such as MLCC), hard coatings, electrode separators, etc.

Multi-layered Die

In order to improve production efficiency and enhance coating functionality (such as electrodes that take into account both energy density and functional density), this method allows multiple layers to be formed simultaneously through wet coating. Matching the rheological properties of the slurry is a prerequisite for using the multi-layer coating method.

Simultaneous double-face die

Working principle: Place a coating head on each side of the substrate, located on the front and back, to achieve simultaneous coating of the coating film on both sides of the substrate, and dry both sides in the oven at one time.

Features: Improve production efficiency, but have high requirements for substrate, slurry and drying conditions.
