Working principle
The coated metal substrate is bent over a cylindrical shaft, allowing evaluation of the coating’s ductility and adhesion under bending stress. The coating is then inspected for signs of cracking, flaking, or other forms of damage.
How to check the results?
After bending, do not remove the coated substrate from the instrument. Inspect the sample immediately using normal vision or a 10x magnifying glass to determine whether the coating has cracked or peeled off from the substrate, based on the requirements of the product standard. If a magnifying glass is used, this must be clearly indicated to avoid confusion with results obtained through normal visual inspection.
Technical Parameters
The cylindrical shafts used in the battery electrode bend tester have diameters of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, and 32 mm, respectively.
This coating flexibility tester is applicable to substrates with a thickness of less than 1.0 mm.
