Products Description
LPSCl, short for Lithium Phosphorus Sulfur Chloride (Li₆PS₅Cl), is a sulfide-based solid electrolyte known for its high ionic conductivity, broad electrochemical window, and strong mechanical properties. It is regarded as one of the most promising electrolyte materials for next-generation all-solid-state lithium batteries.
Due to its excellent ionic conductivity, thermal stability, and compatibility with lithium metal anodes, LPSCl is primarily used as a solid-state electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries.
High ionic conductivity:
LPSCl provides ionic conductivity greater than 10⁻³ S/cm at room temperature, comparable to that of liquid electrolytes. This enables it to meet the high-power charge and discharge requirements of lithium batteries.
Wide electrochemical window:
With an electrochemical stability window exceeding 5V, LPSCl is compatible with high-voltage cathode materials, enhancing the energy density of lithium batteries.
Good mechanical properties:
LPSCl possesses excellent mechanical strength and toughness, which effectively inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites and enhance battery safety.
Good thermal stability:
LPSCl retains stable structure and performance even at elevated temperatures. It is resistant to decomposition and combustion, contributing to improved thermal safety.
Strong processability:
LPSCl can be processed into dense electrolyte sheets using cold pressing, hot pressing, and similar methods, allowing for easy integration with electrode materials.
LPSCl solid electrolyte can be applied to the following fields:
All-solid-state lithium battery:
LPSCl can replace traditional liquid electrolytes to fabricate all-solid-state lithium batteries with higher energy density and enhanced safety.
Lithium-sulfur battery:
By effectively suppressing the polysulfide shuttle effect, LPSCl improves the cycle life and energy efficiency of lithium-sulfur batteries.
Other solid-state batteries:
LPSCl is also applicable to other types of solid-state batteries, such as sodium-ion and magnesium-ion batteries.
Storage and Use
LPSCl should be stored in a dry, cool environment, avoiding exposure to air and moisture.
During handling, protective gloves and masks must be worn to prevent skin contact and dust inhalation.
Direct contact with reactive metals such as aluminum and copper should be avoided, as LPSCl may react with them.
